Speed Landscape Drawing and Painting

The focus of this two-hour structured session is "speed" and "form", i.e. capturing the essence of a subject. You will be guided to complete some "warm-up" colour and drawing exercises and prepared for doing ink and watercolour-based painting in the session. You will learn how to quickly sketch and capture multiple subjects in the garden with ink and wash technique. You will be advised to keep things rather loose and time your drawing/painting.
You will have a chance to meet and greet like-minded people, choose your own subjects in the garden and be guided to complete the exercises, and artwork and have some takeaway homework with the learned technique. All levels and experiences are welcome.

Come along to our meetups to improve your art in a relaxed and social atmosphere, and under the guidance of a professional instructor. Complete beginners to experienced artists all welcome.

Our 2 hour meetups are held in a different location each time, usually outdoors.

Bring your own materials which can be anything from pencils or pastels, to watercolour or oils.

If you are a complete beginner all you need to start are a couple of good drawing pencils, a rubber, and a drawing pad.

Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to experienced artists. The instructor is there to help everyone.

The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

Enjoyed it very much. Learned how to dilute and blend colors using linseed oil. This was my very first introduction to oil painting. Sweta taught us how to organize and take care of of brushes. I like small groups.

I took up oil painting after retiring from the the NHS. Bournville looks stunning on a snowy day when the sun is shining. I worked this from a photo I took when the light was perfect. The colours of snow are magical. It is never white. The perspective on the Rest house is quite challenging!

It was my last day on my London trip and I was very depressed. I visit London a lot and am always sad to leave. That day I decided to visit Camden Town because I had never visited that particular part of London. I wasn?t disappointed. Was a fisherman for many years, I did many pictures of fishing boats over the years for owners of the boats . Whitehills had there own lifeboat station many years ago so i thought i would do i picture of one of the lifeboats that was stationed at Whitehills for the small museum we have at the marina as this is just a memory and thoyht it would be good to have a picture for visitors to see
